It’s scholarship season, and it can be overwhelming if you are not prepared. We have put together a simple list for your reference to make sure you don’t miss out on scholarships at Amarillo Area Foundation.
Visit amarilloareafoundation.org and under the “Scholarships” tab, click “Applicants”
Scroll down and select either High School Students followed by your county or College Students followed by your Institution to browse scholarships that you could be eligible for.
Collect necessary documentation: Proof of US Citizenship or Legal Permanent Resident Status (birth certificate, citizenship or LPR card/certificate, US passport, etc) Transcript (for High School must be a 7-semester transcript, for college an official transcript of most recently completed courses), ACT or SAT scores for High School applicants, IRS tax form 1040 (make sure this form shows a dollar amount for Adjusted Gross Income – we will use it to verify what is in your application), 2 letters of recommendation, an essay telling us who you are as well as your future educational and career goals, and a resume (optional).
When you are ready*, click “Scholarship Application” and click the link to “Register” (remember your password, your username will be your email address). You can save your application and return to it later as long as you have not submitted it. *Tip: Our application works best when you are using Internet Explorer as your browser!
After filling out your application, click “Select Scholarships” followed by “Submit.” Our program will match you to any scholarships which you have matched to. Select the scholarships you wish to apply for and complete any additional required information.
