If you would like to make a cash contribution by electronic transfer, please contact Melanie Smoot at our offices at 806.376.4521 or by EMAIL.

Here is the information we need from you for a gift by wire:

  • Donor’s name and contact information.
  • The purpose or fund for which the gift is intended.
  • Amount of transfer.
  • Anticipated date of transfer.

Establish a Fund

The Process

Creating a fund with the Amarillo Area Foundation is an easy process. By working with you individually, as well as with your financial advisor, staff at the Foundation is able to customize a fund to achieve your philanthropic goals. The Foundation generally uses the following process when creating a new fund:

Step One

Meet with Foundation staff to discuss philanthropic goals.

Step TWO

Determine the purpose of the fund.

Step Three

Determine restrictions that may be placed on the fund’s income.

Step FOUR

Amarillo Area Foundation will ensure that the benefiting organization is qualified to receive grants according to IRS regulations.
