HR for regular people

In many smaller organizations, Human Resources can be an after-thought or be mostly reactionary to staff challenges. We all know it is a luxury to have a staff member that is dedicated to HR tasks much less trained in best practices, so the duties often fall to E.D.s or the finance staff. (HR really is much more than just getting people paid!) Yet, the most valuable parts of any organization are the humans! Would having more information and basic HR skills make your organization stronger, more resilient, and better protected?

HR Roundtable members will meet for 6 meetings to discuss topics like:

• Employee Lifespan: Hiring, Onboarding, Training, Retention, Separation
• HR Legal Concerns
• Employee Handbooks, Policy and Procedures
• Performance Management
• Organizational Health and Culture
• Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion in the Workplace
• Change Management
• How COVID has changed the workplace, aka “The New Normal”
• Conflict Resolution

Keralee Clay is the Senior Vice President at the Amarillo Area Foundation. She is a Society for Human Resources Management (SHRM) Senior Certified Professional and has been a Human Resources professional for over 20 years. Keralee and other HR professionals in our community will facilitate fun and interactive sessions that will help you feel more confident in staffing issues and assist you in becoming a better leader.
