2025 Nonprofit Leadership Academy

The goal of the Nonprofit Leadership Academy is to prepare individuals to serve on nonprofit or civic boards, prior board experience is not necessary.Prospective and current board members, as well as nonprofit employees who are interested in leadership training are encouraged to apply. Eight classes will be held every other Thursday begining February 20th and concluding May 29th. Meetings will be held at the foundation 919 S. Polk St.from 11:30 am to 1:00 pm and will include lunch.

Gain the knowledge you need to be an effective board member. This series of eight classes will cover the topics of, Introduction to Nonprofits, Board Governance, Fundraising, Financial Responsibility, Legal Duties, Must-Have Documents, and Nonprofit vs. Civic Leadership.

The lead instructor for the series is Roxann Ball, Program Officer of the Amarillo Area Foundation Nonprofit Service Center. Roxann has over 25 years of nonprofit management, accounting, and fundraising experience and has been an employee of the foundation for the last eighteen years. Roxann has served on numerous nonprofit boards and committees and is a graduate of Central Michigan University with a Bachelor of Science degree.
