2026 Nonprofit Leadership Academy
The Nonprofit Leadership Academy is a program designed to equip individuals with the knowledge and skills needed to serve on nonprofit or civic boards. Prior board experience is not necessary. Prospective and current board members, as well as nonprofit professionals seeking leadership training, are encouraged to register. Eight classes will be held every other Thursday beginning March 26th and concluding on June 25th. Meetings will be held at the foundation 919 S. Polk St. from 11:30 am to 1:00 pm and will include lunch.
The course will cover the topics of, Introduction to Nonprofits, Board Governance, Fundraising, Financial Responsibility, Legal Duties, Must-Have Documents, and Nonprofit vs. Civic Leadership.
The lead instructor for the series is Roxann Ball, Program Officer of the Amarillo Area Foundation Nonprofit Service Center. Roxann has over 25 years of nonprofit management, accounting, and fundraising experience and has been an employee of the foundation for the last eighteen years. Roxann has served on numerous nonprofit boards and committees and is a graduate of Central Michigan University with a Bachelor of Science degree.
